Is there a set rule for which teeth come in first?

I have an 11 month old. Her two bottom teeth came in fine. On her top, her two front teeth aren't coming in but the teeth on the side of those are coming in. Has anyone ever had this happen? Could it be that maybe she doesn't have front teeth yet? I have a 2 1/2 year old and her two bottom came in, then the two top, then two more on bottom and then two more on top. This is odd. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this happen. Thanks!!

You are correct, they generally come in the bottom two, top two and then the others on the sides. But you know the old saying...every baby is different :)

My little girl's bottom two came in at 3 months, top 4 yes I said FOUR came in at 6 months, then one on the side of the bottom two came in at 6 1/2 months and the other side of the bottom ones is coming in now at 8 months...it's CRAZY! She's 8 months old and has 8 teeth! Now my friend's baby on the other hand is two weeks younger and has a toothless grin...it's so amazing how different all babies are :-)

So pretty much if they aren't in when she turns one mention it at her well baby check up and if the doctor is concerned you'll probably be sent to a dentist.

My daughter's came in like that, too. I was freaking out and took her to the doctor. The doc said to wait until she was a year old and if she still didn't have them, then they would send her to the dentist. My daughter's 2 front teeth came in a month later. So basically, there's no reason to worry.

Other Replys:Thats almost exactly how my 12 month olds teeth have come in. he got both of his bottom fronts, then one top front, the second one over on the other top side, and finally the other second over on top. As long as they come in, theres nothign the matter with which order.

Other Replys:As far as I have seen there is no rule as to what teeth come in I thought on my grandbaby she wasnt getting any it took forever then found she had her back teeth before her front...the doctor told me he has seen several diffent scerios of which comes in when. so dont worry. hope it helps.
