Is my teeth the cause my my lisping?
My teeth are all very even, without the help of braces, but in the front the bottom and top teeth don't meet each other like the back teeth does. The gap between the bottom and top teeth goes for about 1.5 in.
I also have a lisping problem. My Z's and S's sounds the same and occasionally some C's. My toungue goes in between the gap, therefore the cause of my lisping.

Normally the tongue rests on the small hump behind the front teeth and it helps create suction when swallowing, but when you have an overbite, your tongue attempts to fill the gap in order to create the suction for swallowing, so instead of resting on the small hump behind your front teeth, it rests on your front teeth--this is called tongue thrusting.
Tongue thrusting causes a lisp because air escapes between the gaps of the teeth, giving it that sound when pronouncing certain letters that require your tongue to curl (S's C's and Z's).
So to answer your question, the teeth are the reason for the whole problem--they are what is causing the tongue thrusting and the tongue thrusting is causing the lisp.
There are many different causes for tongue thrusting, you will find that if you research it, but in your case, the cause is the overbite. Correction of the overbite would diminish the tongue thrusting completely, which would in turn rid of the lisp.
