I'm getting 8 teeth pulled?!?!?!?....I am going to an oral surgeon?
I'm 18 and Feb.1st I'm getting 8 teeth pulled. 4 baby teeth on the top that just REFUSE to fall out and then my 4 wisdom teeth. I'm not to concerned for my 4 baby teeth other than the fact that i will have old person gums for a while. But I'm not exactly calm for my wisdom teeth. None of my wisdom teeth have erupted, but there are no roots attached to them. When my dad made the appointment he said that i would be heavily sedated? with an IV? Firstly, I'm terrified of needles...like panic attack status. What exactly is the process that I will go through? Will I be conscious of what they are doing? Do I get nitrous before the IV?
Then I also have a dance competition on the 8th and 9th. Will i be generally healed to dance without major problems? I've heard of dry sockets. I'm not exactly sure what they are, but i've heard they are TERRIBLY painful.
What can i do to make sure that i have a very speedy recovery and prevent the possibility of dry sockets?
I desperately need reassurance

just breath. they will put you to sleep in a matter of seconds. he will tell you how to prevent dry sockets...i went through wisdom teeth and it was not that bad at all....HANG IN THERE
